"Young Europe" and "What is Europe for you?" awards ceremony | Europe Day 2025

Plaça Sant Jaume, Barcelona | Friday, 9 May 2025, 7 PM

As part of the Europe Day 2025 celebrations, the Fundació Catalunya Europa and the Representation of the European Commission in Barcelona are organising the awards ceremony for the Young Europe Award and the What is Europe for You? competition — two initiatives that celebrate the creativity, critical thinking and European commitment of young people.

The event will take place in Plaça Sant Jaume, just before the official Europe Day concert, and will feature the Head of the European Commission Representation in Barcelona, Manel Szapiro; and the President of the Fundació Catalunya Europa, Airy Maragall, who will present the awards.

Over sixty high school research projects were submitted this year for the Young Europe Award, aimed at fostering knowledge and research on the European Union. The prizes include a visit to the EU institutions in Brussels and financial support for the best projects.

We sincerely thank all the young participants, the schools and teachers who support them, and the Representation of the European Commission for making this initiative possible year after year.
